Friends of Auburn Ravine was fortunate to have been a part of an important meeting in early February 2017 at the California Department of Water Resources Office in West Sacramento.
At this meeting, we discussed current fish passage assessment work and future water infrastructure improvement projects planned for Auburn Ravine Creek that are supported by Friends of Auburn Ravine, local water agencies, state resource departments, and federal agencies.
Future management of Auburn Ravine Creek, Coon Creek and other local creeks in Western Placer and Sutter Counties is dependent on these partnerships.
In addition to the California Department of Water Resources, the following agencies were also in attendance, NOAA, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, California Department of Fish & Wildlife, Cramer Fish Sciences, Auburn Ravine Preservation Committee, Nevada Irrigation District, and South Sutter Water District.
